È appena stato rilasciato l'aggiornamento settimanale di Space Engineers, che porta il gioco alla versione 1.185 , un aggiornamento maggiore che introduce una delle più grandi novità dell'anno: un totale rifacimento del motore fisico del gioco, che assicurerà la stabilità ed il funzionamento di tutte le costruzioni, permettendo la costruzione di veicoli con parti mobili, sistemi a cingolo, saldatori flettenti e complicati sistemi a pistoni o rotori senza più dover incombere in randomici problemi che portavano alla esplosione involontaria di parti di griglia o comportamenti non voluti. L'aggiornamento porta anche ad un massivo aggiornamento delle API per le mod ed i blocchi programmabili ed introduce un gran numero di bugfix legatiai vari blocchi con interazioni fisiche: Pistoni, rotori, blocchi di fissaggio ecc. L'aggiornamento introduce anche un aumento del raggio delle antenna laser per permettere comunicazioni pianeta-luna (200km circa) ed un sistema di streaming asincrono per evitare i casi di lag in caso di login di un nuovo giocatore.
