Valve ha annunciato un nuovo aggiornamento per Dota 2, denominato "the Blackform Legacy update" che introduce l'arcana per Juggernaut, atteso fin dallo scorso International 2017 (Valve Time!), con animazioni ed effetti speciali per le abilità, l'uso della battlefury ed effetto per le uccisioni di eroi nemici. L'aggiornamento introduce anche il nuovo modello di Jakiro ed una nuova interfaccia grafica per la Capitain Mode, resa più moderna ed in tono con l'attuale interfaccia grafica introdotta con la patch 7.0 e resa più facile nei comandi: Cambiare il capitano, suggerire pick e ban sarà ancora più facile ed a portata di mano.
Assieme all'aggiornamento del client di gioco è stata anche introdotta la patch 7.03 al gameplay, che introduce svariati cambiamenti. Tra i più importanti vi sono l'introduzione del Monkey King alla Capitains Mode, l'aumento di esperienza richiesto per i primi sei livelli del 15% (renderà l'early game più decisivo), la riduzione dell'oro passivo (quello ottenuto con il passare del tempo) del 10% ed una ricalibrazione alle torri: Perderanno 4 di armatura rispetto a prima ma ottengono un buff che ne fa ottenere 2 di armatura nel caso ci sia un giocatore nemico entro 1200 unità: Ciò permetterà alle lane di essere pushate più efficacemente dai creep. I cambiamenti agli eroi non prevedono alcun rework significativo ma bilanciamenti, ancora necessari dopo gli enormi introdotti con l'esordio della serie 7.xx di patch.

    No longer slows attack speed
Helm of the Dominator:
    Reduced All Stats modifier from +4 to +2
