I giochi gireranno inoltre fino a 60fps, e la sua batteria durerà fino a 6 ore (numero che può variare in base al gioco, comunque, in quanto la batteria potrebbe durare persino solo tre ore con giochi abbastanza larghi come The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild).
La console da sola arriverà con 32 gigabyte di spazio, alcuni di questi riservati per il sistema, ma sarà compatibile con memorycard microSD, microSDHC e microSDXC (un gran miglioramento rispetto alla Wii U, che poteva solo avere più spazio se venivano usati hard-disk drive esterni). Lo Switch userà un processore Tegra personalizzato da NVIDIA e si connetterà al dock con un outlet USB Type-C.
Il Nintendo Switch è alto 10,2cm, lungo 23,9cm e largo 1,4cm mentre i suoi controller JoyCon sono collegati, e pesa circa 300 grammi da sola e 400 mentre è collegata ai JoyCon. Arriverà con un jack per cuffie standard da 3,5mm e si collegherà al televisore con un cavo HDMI, come di norma.
